Forgiveness, Confucians, etc.

“Everyone says forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive.” - C.S. Lewis

Do not confuse things that are hard with things that are valuable. Many things in life are hard. Just because you are giving a great effort does not mean you are working toward a great result. Make sure that mountain is worth climbing.

When you're thinking about something that you don't understand, you have a terrible, uncomfortable feeling called confusion.

All Confucians share a basic set of convictions: •Humans are born with the capacity for moral development •Moral development demands self-reflection and concerted improvement •Perfecting the world entails perfecting the self •Past sages presided over a harmonious society

Thomas Sowell Quotes@ThomasSowell

Some things are believed because they are demonstrably true. But many other things are believed simply because they have been asserted repeatedly—and repetition has been accepted as a substitute for evidence.
